Nach Nach
Malkit Singh

Exclusive review by Manni Singh - Birmingham [UK]
As they say, you can't keep a star down, especially the Golden Star, because the king of bhangra is back with an 8-track album that will have you begging for more.Malkit hasn't produced any new material since Akh Larr Gayee back in 1997, so it's been a long time since we've heard the golden voice of the Punjab in action.
The album begins with Kurri patole wargi, one that's being played in venues up and down the country. This is going to be a monster hit and is set to be a classic, along with Tootak and Gurh Nalon Ishq. Also, watch out for the video which was shot in Mumbai. The title track Nach nach is a bit of a rip-off from the Artful Dodger track Movin' too fast, with the background tune being copied for this track. If you like dance/garage, then you'll like this one.
Jija is not one of my personal favourites, but is liked by many of the fans out there. The only thing going for the track is the excellent lyrics, but beside that it is a let down to the album. Track 4, Preeto, is one that you'll remember for a long time, because it?s got a rhythm that?ll get you onto the dance floor. One of my personal favourites. If you like your songs slow and meaningful, then Mehndi's the track for you. Again, excellent lyrics but it?s too slow for my liking and doesn't do anything for Malkit's voice. Some of the best opening lyrics I've heard in ages bless the intro of Raveena. As you can tell it's about a girl named Raveena(Tandon of course!), which is probably why I like it so much! But this one is reminiscent of a Malkit track of old - Naram jehi. When Malkit first uttered those words, "Naram jehi, kurri garam jehi", the track became an instant hit. Hopefully, this one should too. A classic. Another one for those dance fans is Tookeree, which has got a hardcore dance beat and will have you on the dance floor. Malkit has done pretty well in adapting to a dance-orientated track, as opposed to hardcore bhangra. A more westernised-bhangra feel. The final track, Boliyan-milk goat da, is an absolute anthem. With good old traditional lyrics, a desi vibe and that golden voice, this is up there along with Mittey gunney in the boliyan hall of fame. It proves that Malkit doesn't only have a wicked voice, but is one of the best lyrists in the bhangra industry. Nach Nach is a must for your collection - enjoy! Rating: 10/10

Slave 2 Fusion
Stereo Nation

The latest "phat" album by Taz. Every song in this album is brilliant. This album is set to be a hit. "Pyar Ho Gaya": is a good song with a great beat and a good video. My personal favourite is "Galan Gooriyan"- a nicely composed tune with good lyrics and also (lady vocals) nicely sung by Shubhra. This is a good Punjabi bhangra song and is a tune and a half. "Nachangeh Sari Raath" is also another good song with a good video. This album is a must in any bhangra listener's collection; excellent! Nice one Taz! (Being a dedicated Stereo Nation fan) Manp's rating = 10/10

Second Nature
Anakhi

This one is set to be a big hit, no-doubt. Surjeet from Anakhi(the old school) set to kick it with the title track from this album. Also with Surjeet S. is a new talent-Nicky Louise(great vocals). Great dance track with a bollywood style video to follow. Check this one if you haven't already. Detailed Review cumin' up soon!!

Stayin' Real
Jazzy B.

Kickin' baseline in just the one song:"Husana di sarkar". Excellent song and great release! This song is extremely well composed as Jazzy B. sings with the distant dhol beat! The video is one to be watched, filmed in South America-me thinks?!, well rated and different to all other bhangra videos I have seen. The album is ok too but worth buying maybe just for this one song! Good one Jazzy!! Manp's rating = 9/10

Phenomenon
LL Cool Singh

All good! Cool Singh has a good compelation of tunes here. The "Chapa chapa" remix is good and a top song in this release would have to be: "Thori thori". A song with a great beatline, let down by the lyrics about alcohol?! A good compostion of tunes and some credible songs. Teekh teekh!! Manp's rating = 7/10

The First Chapter
**NEW** Dalvinder Singh**

This talented new artist is set to be the next Malkit Singh. With an excellent voice and a dholki; some good bhangra songs on this album. From the Midlands, this young talent has produced some good music. Working on his next release; set to be out in January. Look out and make way!! Manp's rating 9/10

Made in England
B21

All three songs on this release are great!"Darshan"-I personally didn't like it much. The tune is quite familiar maybe to all Punjabi's, the lyric' s are just funny! The "DIP" version of "Darshan" really does justice to this song! "Kuriyan Punjab Diyan"-well what can I say, excellent song with great vocals by the lady in the background;whoeva she is! Great beat line and to top it off, the lyrics are all that and more.

Well rated song, brilliantly put together by Bally J. and the best lyrics...right? "Mahi"-also one of my fav's at the moment, great lyrics, excellent collaboration with Rishi.R. Big up to Jassi, Bhoota and Bally J! Manp's rating = 10+
